Harry Potter and the Devil
“Harry in an absolute godsend to our cause,” said High Priest “Egan” of the First Church of Satan in Salem, MA. “An organization like ours thrives on new blood - no pun intended - and we've had more applicants than we can handle lately."
Tragically, very few people care about the evils of Harry Potter. I've talked with many people and they all seem to have the nonchalant attitude that reading a series of books about witchcraft isn't going to hurt a child. It is the historical pattern, as a nation goes into sin they gradually become desensitized towards sin...bad is no longer that bad...evil is no longer so evil...and the hearts of the people grow cold and indifferent towards God and righteousness. The average person today laughs at the mention of Harry Potter being of the devil. Such a response is to be expected from someone who watches The Simpsons, Jay Leno, Oprah, Sabrina the Witch, Jackass, and all the other godless TV programming oozing out of TV sets across America. Regardless, I will stand uncompromisingly and without apology against the wickedness of Harry Potter and his hellbound witchcraft. Witchcraft is a sin (1st Samuel 15:23)!
I was sickened as I read the following article which appeared in the July 16, 2005 New York Daily News - http://www.nydailynews.com:
Spellbound fans

Harry Potter cast his spell on New York yesterday. An army of Potter fans - would-be witches, wizards and assorted muggles - gathered at the headquarters of publisher Scholastic Inc. in a lather to get their hands on the latest exploits of the world-famous Hogwarts schoolboy.
Waving wands and uttering nonmagical incantations like "We want the book," the Potter-maniacs counted down the last 20 seconds to 12:01 a.m. today, when "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" - the sixth in J.K. Rowling's series of enchanters - officially went on sale.
When the magic moment arrived, it was like New Year's Eve and Halloween rolled into one, with the costumed crowd cheering and clapping - and one or two shouting "Happy New Year." The 672-page novel flew off the shelves like a Nimbus 2000 broomstick.
For the long-awaited event, a block of Mercer St. was magically transformed into a kind of "Diagon Alley" of the books, complete with costumed magicians, face painters, fire-eaters, stilt-walkers and clouds of balloons.
And as fast as you could say "Accio!" it filled up with an estimated 4,000 people, many costumed as their favorite characters.
When the witching hour rolled around, Mercer St. erupted in cheers. Strobe lights and confetti filled the night air.
First on line was Andrea Bernal, 15, a 10th-grader at Heritage High School in East Harlem, who had arrived at noon.
Clutching the tome in her arms after midnight, she said, "I'm so emotional right now. I'm in tears. This means so much to me."
She explained that Harry helped her learn English when she came to America from Bolivia seven years ago.
"I've read all five books a million times," she said. "I read the first one when I was 11 and didn't speak much English. It helped my vocabulary. I'm nervous now but this is just wonderful. I'm going to try to read the new book all in one night."
The scene was much the same at Toys "R" Us in Times Square, where more than 1,000 waited on line - some for eight hours - to shell out $19.95 for Harry's new adventure.
Raul Ortiz, 16, of Brooklyn, said he and two friends got to the store "late . . . at 8:00 . . . and the line already was long. But we're huge fans, so it's worth it."
He said he was taking his book straight home and hopes to "read it in like three days."
Did you read that? "An army of Potter fans - would-be witches, wizards and assorted muggles - gathered at the headquarters of publisher Scholastic Inc. in a lather to get their hands on the latest exploits of the world-famous Hogwarts schoolboy." What has America come to when an army of children (Potter fans) desperately wait to get their hands on a book about witchcraft and magic? When is the last time you heard about a massive group of children staying up until midnight to get the latest Bible story book? Never! And the sad thing is that most people would laugh at what I just said. It just shows the evil nature of mankind, prone to wickedness and rebellion against God. If someone came out with a Biblically based adventure book, most people would have nothing but disdain and contempt for it. John 3:20 reveals exactly why...
"For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." -John 3:20
Those who love sin more than God will continue to run from God and His Word. It is only our sin that keeps us from God...
"Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." -Isaiah 59:1
J.K. Rowling is now a billionaire. Do you think Billy Sunday or John the Baptist would make that kind of money if they were alive today? No, they'd be crucified just like Jesus Christ was. The truth behind the world's infatuation with Harry Potter is told in 1st John 5:19...
"And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness." -1st John 5:19
The world is that mass of humanity which has alienated itself from God, and is therefore hostile towards the Word of God and the cause of Christ. The world follows after things which are temporary, frail, and fleeting. The world walks in darkness, rejecting the light of the Truth of God's Word. The world has truly become one giant insane asylum. The devil is the god of this world (2nd Corinthians 4:4), but not of the earth (1st Corinthians 10:26). The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof.
It doesn't surprise me in a fallen world controlled by Satan, that the masses of humanity would rally around the witchcraft and sorcery of J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter leaves out God, but includes Satan. The very nature of witchcraft is Satanism. The Wiccan witches can call me ignorant all they want to, but I know what the Bible says...
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -1st Timothy 2:5
Witchcraft teaches that there are MANY gods (pagan deities). The Bible and Wicca CANNOT coexist! Someone is lying! I'll take my chances with the Word of God, the only book on earth that perfectly describes the sin-nature of mankind (and God's redemptive plan of reconciliation with our Creator). I recently responded to the critics of a Wiccan witch by asking her to find out upon what "AUTHORITY" Wicca is based. She mumbled one thing after another but she could not provide me with any authority. Folks, Wicca witchcraft is based upon the authority of the devil. I realize that Wiccans only recognize Lucifer (and not the devil), but Lucifer certainly is the devil according to the Bible. Wiccans claim that it was Christians who gave Lucifer a bad reputation. It couldn't be more obvious to anyone who is seeking the truth that Wicca is Satanic. Just because Wiccans deny the devil doesn't mean that he longer exists in reality. Look at the evils in the world and tell me with a straight face that there is no Satan!
My big question is this for Wiccan witches...why could you not do all the nice things that you claim you do (like helping the environment) without doing it in the name of "witchcraft?" Why the witchcraft? The only answer is Satan. The witches are desperately scampering in their dens to discredit anyone who exposes the truth about them. I'm often accused of misinformation concerning Wicca, but they never specify which misinformation...they just throw out blanket accusations and call me ignorant. Call me ignorant if you'd like, but I am certainly not ignorant of the Word of God. The Bible vehemently condemns witchcraft in EVERY form. All sin is black, and ALL witchcraft is as black as can be. There is NO such thing as "good witchcraft."

"... the sin of witchcraft..." -1st Samuel 15:23
"Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD..." -Malachi 2:17
Harry Potter's witchcraft is Evil to the core! Don't upset God by saying it's not.
